Parents and Citizens Association PDF Print E-mail

The aim of the P&C Association is to promote the interests and facilitate development and further improvement of Tamborine Mountain State High School. The P&C endeavours to bring about a closer cooperation between the parents of students attending the school, other members of the community and the staff and students of the school.

Membership

Parents of students attending the school and any other persons aged 18 years of older who are interested in the welfare of the school are eligible to be members of the P&C.

Volunteers

Volunteers provide service to the school by assisting in the canteen and uniform shop. The P&C encourages parents to become a P&C volunteer; by offering as little as an hour a week parents can make a difference to their child's school environment.

Meetings

The P&C holds regular general meetings and an AGM in March. All are welcome at meetings - membership is not required for attendance at P&C meetings. Please contact a member of the current P&C executive if you wish to raise an issue at a P&C meeting. For details of the next P&C meeting, please check with the school.

Canteen

The P&C operates a well stocked school canteen which offers a broad range of healthy eating options for the school community. The canteen is staffed by employees and volunteers who work together to create a range of freshly prepared foods from a menu which is regularly reviewed.

Uniform Shop

The school uniform shop is managed by the P&C and is staffed by a convenor who is assisted by volunteers. the uniform shop stocks all the main uniform items and is open Mondays and thursdays during school term, 8 - 9.30am. The uniform shop is also open for extended hours prior to the commencement of each school year.

Fundraising

The P&C raises fundes primarily through the voluntary contribution of an annual levy from each family with students attendng the school. Funds raised are used by the P&C Building Fund towards progressive construction of a sports hall facility at the school.
