Program Overview
Tamborine Mountain State High School Sports Academy Program provides a sport development program for male and female athletes Year 7 to 12 students across five different sports (Football, Netball, Touch Football, Rugby League and Basketball). The program was created to deliver our student-athletes the opportunity to develop their chosen sporting ability to an elite level. Through the guidance of our experienced staff and coaches, students are supported for balancing both academic and sporting career goals.
Curriculum Overview
All sports will cover a range of theory topics (health/sport specific) such as Nutrition, Biomechanics, Anatomy, Tactical Awareness and Movement sequences, Sports Psychology and Injury Prevention. They will also have access to our school gym, where students will have the opportunity to participate in strength and conditioning sessions.
Selection Procedure
Applicants are required to trial in their sport. Please see below for upcoming application closing dates, trial dates, times and venues as they become available.
Acceptance into the program
Students who are successful in the trials will be offered a position in the Program via a letter/email home. The program will have two fees associated to it: a “SRS" and an “Excursion" fee. The mentioned fees will be payable upon acceptance into the program and in each subsequent year that the student is part of the program. These funds are used to provide additional resources and enhancement exclusively for students within the program as well as their attendance to competition/game days. Such funds provide greater resources/equipment for the development of the program.
