Reece Love - Rugby League Coordinator
I believe Rugby League provides a powerful platform for developing hard work, resilience and pride through shared achievement for our students at Tamborine Mountain State High School. Within the Academy, I place a strong emphasis on high expectations, consistent routines and accountability, with students expected to represent themselves and the school with integrity both on and off the field. This creates a positive team culture where students take responsibility for their actions and contribute to a performance environment that supports those striving to reach their full potential and progress towards higher-level opportunities within the game.
In my role as a HPE teacher and Rugby League Academy Coordinator, I aim to create an environment where students are supported and challenged to improve each day. This includes developing individual skill and performance, alongside teamwork, discipline and a commitment to working for one another. This approach has led to consistent year-on-year growth in both performance and participation, with our boys' teams showing measurable improvement in the Titans Kinetic School League competition, as well as strengthening connections to development and elite pathways with the Gold Coast Titans and Burleigh Bears.
My vision is to continue building student interest and capability within the Academy. A key priority is expanding female participation, with the goal of establishing Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 girls' teams, alongside increasing the depth and foundational skill level across Years 7-10 boys. This will support a transition towards single year-level teams competing in scaled competitions. By continuing to grow the Academy, the aim is to further enhance student outcomes in attendance, wellbeing and behaviour, while developing confident, capable young people who take pride in their progress as rugby league players and human beings.
Bronte Rose - Soccer Coordinator
As the Soccer Academy Coordinator at TMSHS, I am passionate about creating a positive and challenging environment where students can grow both on and off the field. Guided by values of hard work, respect, teamwork, and integrity, I aim to foster pride in representing the school while supporting each student's development.
With experience playing at a high level, I enjoy sharing my knowledge with students who are equally passionate about soccer. Growing up in this community, I understand the challenges families face with access to sport, and the Academy provides valuable opportunities to compete against other schools and higher-level players.
As both a coordinator and HPE, Science, and Mathematics teacher, I strive to model the balance between academic success and sporting commitment. It is exciting to see the continued growth of the program, particularly in female participation, and the positive impact it has on student wellbeing, engagement, and attendance.
